Sometimes you just want to do your makeup and put on something that makes you feel confident. This day was one of those, I had been feeling down about myself for a while and I felt like I needed to spend some time getting ready just for the sake of it. A bit of me-time can actually do wonders for your mental state. I went for this golden make up look and while I usually only seldomly wear eye shadow I really enjoyed the way it looked with the warm sunlight.
I definitely need to make self-care a priority and have been looking for ways to incorporate little things into my day-to-day life. For me, being creative is the most therapeutic. So, whether it is writing or painting or even photography, being creative let’s me shut off the stress of everyday life for a while. Similarly meditation (which honestly I still suck at) and working out regularly really helps me feel balanced and gain a more positive outlook.
It’s usually the days that I don’t feel like doing them that I need them most. So, I still try to push myself. Make sure to take some time for yourself once in a while because it honestly does pay off.
