Cold weather always makes me fret. This time of the year brings back one of my worst skin problems: dry skin. The dry air and heater make my skin patchy and rough. It takes some very intensive products to give back and lock in that moisture. That’s why I compiled a list of my go to favourite deep moisturising products to keep your skin soft and rosy this fall/winter season. Read on to find out which products I like to use most.
2. Burt’s Bees Ultimate Care Body Lotion
3. The Body Shop ‘Body Brush’
4. Lush ‘Dream Cream’
5. Lush ‘Buffy’ Inshower-Bodybutter
The first product on my list is a bit unconventional but actually my favourite go to moisturizer. When I feel like a regular moisturizer won’t do, I take some raw virgin coconut oil instead. It melts inbetween my fingers, smells good and smoothes down any rough bumps on my skin.
The Burt’s Bees Body Lotion has a similar effect. It uses milk and honey to moisturize the skin and is intensive without being too heavy or oily.
Before I apply products to my skin, however, I like to dry brush my arms and legs to exfoliate and remove any excess dead skin cells. It gets my blood circulation going and basically wakes up my skin. Plus, dry brushing helps with cellulite.
Another lotion I have been liking is Lush’s ‘Dream Cream’. It is very light weight and 100% organic which is great. I haven’t been using the Dream Cream for too long but so far I like how it doesn’t feel oily on my skin and moisturises without leaving any residue like so many other lotions do.
The last item on my list is a wonder worker. The ‘Buffy’ exfoliating body butter does twice the work of a normal product. First it exfoliates and diminishes bumps on the arms and legs and secondly it instantly adds back moisture and doesn’t let the skin dry out. Because of this combination Buffy truly works for dry skin and leaves the skin not only moisturized but smoothed down at the same time.
