DIY: Tassel Clutch

It’s been a while since I DIYed accessories, so I was super motivated to create something I could wear out. I was inspired by the Yves Saint Laurent Tassel bag and decided that I could create a similar look without breaking the bank. Β It literally took me 15 minutes to spice up my old clutch and I will be wearing my new piece way more often from now on. So it was totally worth it! Read on to find out how to make it!

DIY Tassel Clutch

What you’ll need:

  • a clutch (I used an old one)
  • an old necklace chain and a bead
  • a pair of pliers

The first thing you’ll have to decide is how many individual chains you want in your tassel and how long you want it to be. I decided to go for 7 pieces measuring 10 cms each. My necklace chain was pretty long. If yours isn’t, the tassel looks just as good with less strings attached.

For the last part of the DIY I attached my silver pearl to the ring to cover up the connection of the tassel and the clutch by sewing it on. And you’re done. This is my end result and I absolutely love the way it turned out:IMG_9417

Get inspired!
