Lately I’ve been feeling like my skin is getting a lot drier becaue of the chilly temperatures here in Germany. That’s why I have been looking at ways to reenergize my skin to give it that healthy glow along with the substantial moisture it needs. Since I am a huge fan of the Frank Coffee Scrub I thought that it would be a good idea to order another package. But why spend so much money on so little product when you can create your very own personalized coffee scrub that fits the needs of your skin perfectly.
And all I can say is, that I am obsessed with this scrub. It makes my skin feel so much smoother and cures all my dry skin problems.
1. What you will need is:
– 1 cup ground coffee (60 grams)
– 1 tsp sea salt
– 4 tsp cocoa powder
– 2 tsp cinnamon
– 4 tsp coconut butter
– 2 tsp brown sugar
– 2 tsp olive oil
I personalized the ingredients because of my very dry skin to exfoliate and add a lot of natural moisture to my skin.
The main ingredient of the scrub is (you guessed right) coffee which exfoliates your skin and improves your blood circulation. It helps achieve a firmer appearance and can even reduce cellulite.
The sea salt helps renew the skin and leaves it so much smoother and softer.
I also added cocoa because of it’s antioxidants and just to add a yummy smell to the scrub.
The cinnamon is especially good for your skin if you tend to get pimples or even have acne because it has antiseptic properties. I also added the cinnamon to help reduce the redness I have on my upper arms because of my KP.
The coconut oil in the scrub truly is a miracle worker that gives you all the moisture your skin needs. It smoothes your skin and of course adds the amazing coconut fragrance.
The brown sugar works similarly to the sea salt in exfoliating and removing dead skin cells. Its glycolic acid fights bacteria. Plus, brown sugar can even improve sun damage and leave your skin looking fresher and younger.
The last ingredient I chose is olive oil beacuse of it’s high moisturizing capabilities.
2. Put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix them slowly and carefeully. It might take a while until the coconut butter is evenly distributed but you just need to be patient until you get the right texture.
3. Pour all the ingredients into a mason jar or any other kind of closable container to hold your coffee scrub. That’s it, you’re ready to get scrubbing.
I hope you enjoyed this very simple DIY tutorial and will love the coffee scrub just as much as I already do.
